About IB

IB Policies:

IB Criteria & Objectives: Each of the 8 subjects in the MYP has 4 objectives, criteria and rubrics.  Many teachers make the IB rubrics task- specific, to show more specifics of how students can be successful on the assignment.  As rubrics are used, they are made available to students, so they can see indicators of success.

IB Rubric Conversion Chart: Because our gradebook is set up on a 1-100 point system, we convert our IB rubric grades to the 1-100 scale.

Learner Profile Traits: There are 10 traits that we strive to encourage in our students, so that they will become internationally-minded life-long learners who will make the world a better place.  These traits give us a common language to more fully develop these holistic attributes in students. Click here for a list of the learner profile traits and an explanation about them.

Approaches to Learning: There are over 100 skills that students will use throughout their 5 years in the MYP to anchor them in success.  The 5 skill categories are:  thinking skills, social skills, communication skills, self-management skills, and research skills.

Service as Action: All of our students participate in Service as Action in a Canvas Course.
